Library Advocates are the voice of the public library community. Advocates communicate the value and importance of public library service to the local community, government leaders and other decision-making populations.
Advocates may be library directors, staff, trustees and/or members of local Friends of the Library groups. However, any community member can be an advocate for libraries. The following is a list of resources available to educate advocates not only about the governmental decision-making process, as it relates to public libraries; but also, about tools on how to advocate effectively. |
