Subscribe to Newsletters from Nicolet Public libraries are at the forefront of change as they adapt to new technologies, support diverse patron needs, and foster strong community connections. This year’s Nic Con brings together library professionals for a dynamic one-day event packed with inspiration, practical strategies, and expert insights. With sessions led by Nick Tanzi and Beth Wahler, attendees will gain tools to navigate the evolving library landscape while prioritizing their own well-being. Nick Tanzi’s session focuses on one of the most pressing topics of our time: artificial intelligence. AI is rapidly shaping the way we interact with information, leading to both excitement and uncertainty. How will libraries adapt to this change? What role do we play in guiding our communities through this transformation? Nick will explore AI’s current and future impact on libraries and emphasize the essential role we will play in supporting our communities in the age of AI. On the other side of innovation lies another challenge: self-care for library professionals. Beth Wahler’s workshop addresses the realities of workplace stress, evolving patron needs, and the emotional toll of frontline library work. Attendees will explore practical techniques for managing burnout and secondary trauma, while also creating personalized self-care plans. With accessible and affordable strategies, this session empowers librarians to build resilience and prioritize their well-being in a demanding profession. With thought-provoking discussions, hands-on learning, and invaluable networking opportunities, Nic Con is a must-attend event for librarians ready to shape the future while safeguarding their own health.
